Unconditional love

My little sister is very smart. She said that love is all about giving, which is why parents love their children more than their children love them - because they constantly give. Unconditionally.
The was only one time in my life when I remember thinking of someone else before I thought of myself, and that didn’t end well. That someone else thought about themselves first as well, so I was left with no one thinking of me. |
But I do remember the wonderful feeling of being in a place of unconditional love. A place voided of fears and worries. A place where time stands still and all there is is – what there is.
I often think of it when I think of personal growth and spirituality. I wonder why it’s so hard to get yourself out of the picture and put all your attention on the people around you. After all, all of us who seek spiritual growth strive to get to this exact place. Are we trying to hard….?
For me, aside of watching my mind movie daily, I put my hopes in the baby. There will be unconditional love between us, and I hope that will expand to the rest of my relationships.
